WEDC International Conferences
WEDC is one of the world's leading education and research institutes for developing knowledge and capacity in water and sanitation for low- and middle-income countries.
The WEDC International Conference is a highly respected, global platform for practitioners, decision makers, academics and researchers who lead water and sanitation innovation in developing countries. Click here to view some photos of the 2013 conference.
Conceived in the early 1970s, the Conference is held regularly in either Africa or Asia and is the only conference of its type to be co-organized and hosted in a developing country. Our previous 36 conferences have been attended by over 8500 participants from 80 countries; our conference collection of over 2400 papers is a unique resource for the sector.
A Call for Papers is circulated a year ahead of the conference. All papers are either refereed or reviewed. Printed and bound copies of the Pre-prints are issued on registration. The Conference Proceedings are published on CD and mailed to all delegates. The Proceedings include all papers presented, keynote speeches and summaries from the discussions which take place on each topic.
Please look around the conference website to find out more about recent conferences and to access our database of over 2400 conference papers presented since 1973.
